The info on their Website is very misleading. On the one hand they say:
Highlights
High-Speed USB 2.0 with USB 1.1 compatibility - Now you can add four
high-speed, 480-Mbps USB 2.0 ports to your computer while maintaining
backward compatibility with current USB 1.1 devices.
Includes USB 2.0 drivers for Windows Operating Systems - This product
includes high-performance Adaptec USB 2.0 drivers for Windows 98 Second
Edition, Millennium Edition, 2000 and XP specifically designed and optimized
for the USB2connect 3100LP.
Full USB-IF Hi-Speed Certification - You get guaranteed USB 1.1 and USB 2.0
compatibility and hassle-free operation.
^Works on both Macs and PCs - Our universal design works on PC-compatible
computers and Macs as well.^
And then they say:
Macintosh
* Mac OS. 9.0.4 or later* (please review the ReadMe file that comes with
the product and the customer support section of the Adaptec web site for the
latest information on Mac OS X compatibility)
* *This card is OHCI compatible. Drivers that Apple includes in the Mac
OS will work with this product. Note: USB ports will function at USB 1.1
speeds.
So, if you have the ReadMe...read it...There's no Mac drivers listed on
their Website, just Windows.
I think they could've said something like "USB 1.1 speeds on Mac OS until
such a time as we or Apple provide drivers and 480-Mbps USB 2.0 speeds on a
Windows machine."
