I'm betting that your problem is that you specify and destination folder in the Batch window. Just specify "None" in that box. If you specify a folder there it may depending on other settings override a save function recorded in an action. I routinely run batch operations that put different versions of different files into various folders. I always specify None as the destination in the Batch window and they run without a hitch.

I can write the action but when I try to batch run the Action, the files all end up in the folder that you are obliged to specify. It simply never occurred to me that people use actions without using batch.
