I saw these with my 1280, but mine is a Niagra CIS, whereby ink outside the print area can usually be remedied by lowering the bottles relative to the printer (... as if the bottles being too high feeds too much ink).
Thanks Michael. Unfortunately, I'm not on a CIS so I don't know what it is. I've noticed it only happens at 720dpi, not 1440 though.
