CHOP's and bouncing from RGB to Lab and back again, allows massive changes
in tonality all throughout the tonal range with impunity. It's extreme and
takes awhile to get used to it. Action scripting just rips it up to eleven.

Nah, seriously - I really do recommend that working fast and loose on low
rez proxies with action scripting, and THEN to play the script back as a
slideshow on full rez files, can tell you a LOT about what's actually in the
file as material content. It is a good way of learning as you go, and VERY
intuitive. There comes a time when the manual has to be put down.

Thinking about it, there is so much of Photoshop that I simply do not use,
until it comes at me at a rush.....I mean one little turn in a different new
direction can bring quite dramatic changes in both digital workflow and ways
of thinking about pictures. It's like bending the notes on an electric
guitar through a nice amp, and action scripting turns Photoshop into a
fantastic multi-track recording studio with every lick in place.

I kid you not!
