Last week I drew attention to a problem with the PRODIG list. Unfortunately I did so as part of a reply to another thread so understandably it did not get picked up but I am concerned enough to give it another airing;

I recently did a google search for my name and top of the list was a link to something stripped from the PRODIG archive.

My worry is that the posts appear out of context and in a totally public domain.

So...potential client does a quick search and a list appears with a link to potentially anything I have posted to PRODIG. This could be banal, complementary, flattering, embarrassing or at worst libellous. Out of context as they are they all appear odd- well mine do.

Is it time I started some self censorship or is there a problem, which meeds some discussion, about how the archive works?

Personally I would like to say what I think and stand corrected, and for others to be able to do the same without 'off' days haunting me over the web.

OK, I am annoyed with myself because my web site did not appear in the search which is something I will have to attend to but I cannot be the only one thinks this is a issue.

Yours,

Jonathan 'paranoid' Keenan
