This discussion is truly futile. The agencies know what they want and are telling us what they want. Why argue about the issue? Do you have the time to take up the argument with the technical people at these agencies, and if you do have the time do you think you will prevail?
If an agency says images from a 14N are satisfactory why argue the point? I seem to recollect the 14N produces a bigger file than does the Canon, and at least one photographer has stated he thinks the noise issue is overblown. Also, nothing stands still in this field. You can be sure Kodak is doing its darndest to improve the 14N.
