Trevor is definitely a great guy. He once helped me out when Gretag tried to
screw me over their original misleading Eye-One package.

Hmm? Not really the sign of a professional product, we feel? What with the
crap original manual that came with my Eye-One, and now this, it seems that
a lot of "pro" products are actually "still in development" and we need to
write the manuals ourselves. You'd think with today's access to the WWW,
that they could update their manuals "live" online, so that we could all be
kept informed, but no, you have to learn the little tricks as you go along.
So when you spend 2500 (that's what my original package cost) on a product,
for god sake don't use it in advanced mode!!!! :-)

PS - I'm in no way really knocking the Eye-One here. I love mine and have
never regretted investing in it. It is a superb product. However, instances
like the above are a joke, and should not happen. When they do, why are the
end users not immediately informed via e-mail (since Gretag has all our
e-mail addresses from the registration). A fine product, let down by lousy
customer support from Switzerland. (UK support is fine, since you get to
talk to Trevor)

PPS - I'm particularly grieved, because I had the same Magenta problem last
year, and it took me months to sort out. In the end I changed to using
BasICColor Display, because no one could tell me what was going on. I even
asked on this list, but no-one knew the answer, people just presume you are
doing something wrong with the software. I mean, if the colour guru's (such
as Neil B & Thomas) aren't aware of this Magenta issue with certain
settings, on certain screens, then what hope is there for the rest of us
poor suckers.
