Incidentally, I have been told that the machine must be switched off on the printer NOT at the mains supply for the heads to be sealed correctly (which makes sense, and it's what I have always done, but I still have problems with blocked nozzles, so who knows?).
Switching off the printer is the recommended way, but it also varies by printer. I use two 1290s, one of which clogs up at an alarming rate and needs head cleaning at least weekly if not more frequently. The second one has probably needed cleaning two or three times in the year I've had it. Weird...
