I�ve been using a nice thing all autumn on a Nikon D1H to fire the Elincrom flashes. It�s called Prolinca 40203, and is actually a little flash with a red/violet filter in the front. Has functioned very well in daily studiosituation use.
The stores which sells elinchrom should have it.
