And for peace of mind, the Wein VR or an IR trigger seems an affordable solution.
High current is only one of the issues here. A sync cord is one more thing for someone (usually me!) to trip over and send the camera crashing. An infra-red or radio trigger gets rid of one more cord in the studio; and provides voltage protection for sensitive camera electronics too.
