<<So, an IR trigger or the Wein Safe Sync seems the way to go...and, of
course, if your pocket stretches to it or you own offshore trusts, other
remote triggers.>>
I'm not sure how tongue-in-cheek Shangara is being here, but the "other remote trigger" I've used for several years is the Pocket Wizard Plus, which gets around any concerns over trigger voltage, is (in my experience) totally reliable, and is highly convenient. Since buying three in the US about three years ago (before they were officially imported to UK) I haven't plugged in a grotty co-ax flash lead once, and they've been wonderfully useful on Nikon film bodies, my RZ, a Cambo, and a Fuji S2. I don't, alas, have any offshore trust funds, but even allowing for the usual UK ripoff price hike Pocket Wizards are not too expensive. Tech support from the US makers is excellent as well - they put together a custom package specially for me, to have my US-standard PW units converted to UK frequencies, at moderate cost. Highly recommended.
