After much rigorous testing and an off the record comment from a leading
manufacturer of LCD monitors , we've decided to hold fire on the flat
screens for a while . As easy as they are on the eye , we still have
reservations regarding sharpness ( too much ), dead pixels ( one is too
many ) and tonal range.

Dear Bob

I agree with your comments tempting though the all LCD route is. Our order for an Artisan screen has been put on hold pending more details of the new Mitsubishi screen. This as you may know is supposed to display 97% of the Adobe RGB gamut. Much as I would rather have Sony screens here, there would be an advantage in the wider gamut, subject to it being controlled as well as the Artisan is reputed to be.

Cheers
