I have a Canon 1Ds that developed a sensor fault last month. The sensor was replaced under warranty. The new sensor is also faulty (with a fault that Canon have never heard of) and this time there are no more sensors available until February 2004. I bought the camera from Leeds (who don't exist now). Any ideas what I should do, given that I've got digital jobs booked in most days? Canon seem to be unavailable for comment at the moment. Meanwhile I'm stuck with a 5500 lump of virtually useless metal & plastic, and there are no 1Ds's available as replacement even if they would agree to give me one or even sell me one. I don't want to have to rely on my 10D as back up as it just isn't up to the job (way to slow to write to the card).
I might add that Fixation have been absolutely wonderful trying to help, but their hands are tied by the lack of responses/parts from Canon. Jo =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
