raw processing software, non?
Hi Eddy. Well...non actually...well yes kind of! In the raw processor in PS/CS you can select a size for the processed file, up to A3+ in PS and even bigger in CS. You can also select 8 or 16bit files. Choosing the biggest image size and 16 bit will deliver a file upwards of 100mb. In my workflow I always process to the biggest image size, work on that, archive it as a master and then create all other requirements from that. I do this because if a client says A5 and then wants A3+ I don't want to have to go back and reprocess the RAW file again and have to replicate any manipulation and retouching that I've done. Storage demands go up but I don't worry about that. I believe there is a system only available in Nikon's capture software for converting the 6 megapixel D1X file into a 10 megapixel file by utilising some dimension wrinkle that is peculiar to the D1X.
All of this is just interpolation in the end but my belief is its better than resizing up later.
Hope this helps. Patrick.
