I use the Eye One which is fine on a LCD screen. Don't forget to calibrate your printer and sort out the lighting around the workspace too!

Hi,
I'm getting ready to get into color management and am looking for cost effective alternatives for calibration/profiling of my Apple 17" LCD attached to my G4 OS X 10.2.8 machine. I may be upgrading to a G5 10.3 machine, but will likely keep the 17" LCD, if that makes any difference.
I heard that the Spyder with PhotoCAL had problems on the Apple Cinema Displays, but nothing specifically on the 17" model. I know there are many happy Spyder users out there, but I'd like to hear from users about their experiences. Is the Gretag-McBeth EyeOne Display worth the extra money? Is the BasICColor unit good? Are there others in the <$300 (USD) price range I should consider?
Thanks for your experience!
Kurt
