Dear Kurt, My whole-hearted recommendation is that a really decent piece of monitor calibration kit is much more important than upgrading to a G5 for the moment. An Eye One Monitor (a spectrophotometer) and BasICColor Display is the way forward. I think you should hang back on the G5 for a bit longer (by which time, better models will be around) and spend all you possibly can on your monitor calibration rather than following the cheaper (I presume this is what you mean by 'cost effective') route. Although this combination will set you back in the region of 600GBP + VAT, in my opinion the equipment/SW combination I have outlined *is* the most cost effective as it will give you more accurate profiles and will save you more in time and materials. You have a great monitor (and computer), so why skimp on its accuracy? Remember, this is the only method by which you can see your carefully crafted files. Best wishes and good luck.
