Hi Simon Usually you hear stories of film bodies gathering dust! :-) As an idle aside, I was reading an interesting article not that long ago which focused on the authenticity of an original digital file (RAW) as admissible evidence versus using negatives. Couple that with the issue you raised and Digital's soft underbelly appears exposed (!)..
I'd be interested in hearing of what other digital users are doing because I know that I have a burgeoning collection of CD backups and the thought of them 'expiring' fills me with cold horror. I did a lot of homework in selecting a brand with a reasonably proven life term but I've now considered due to the number of these discs that I should copy them onto DVD and at a ratio of 6/7:1, it'll make things a lot neater. I've looked at magneto-optical and tape as alternatives but I have my reservations about buying into a redundant format. This is without doubt, one of my biggest concerns with digital. What is everyone else doing? Does anyone have any thoughts?
