I wouldn't blame yourself too much I suspect it's more to do with the fact
that you have been used to the Windows environment and the Mac is different.
I am a Mac user but then I always have been. I've never used a PC until a
few months ago and I don't like them, but that�s just because I'm used to
knowing my way around and and suddenly it's all different (I haven't given
up Mac by the way, just bought PC for my kids to use for their school work).

As for crashes, you can forget that now with Macs, I've had my G4 laptop
running continuously for nearly 18 months without a single system crash and
only one or two (literally) program freezes.

The main issue is does it work for you. If you think a PC suites you better
why consider a Mac & visa versa. But I don't think there is any reason to
discount Mac on the grounds on compatibility, I've never had a problem. With
OSX most of the old problems are gone, so at least now one can choose
whichever platform suits.
