I used NPS 160 for a project last year shooting and scanning 5x4. On the
whole I found the results were less attractive than shooting Provia, to
which I have now largely returned except when I need to shoot unbalanced
lighting sources. I found getting the density of the Negs right for the
scanner (Epson 3200) often wasn't straightforward.

However... when it comes to scanning Neg it really is worthwhile trying
VueScan which has inbuilt colour correction profiles for NPS160 film. Then,
scanning straight to positive results in a well balanced scan. VueScan takes
some time to learn but is well worth having as a second tool in the toolbox
when one meets problems. Silverfast also has Neg profiles but I never
personally got good results with it despite its easy to use (dumbed down?)
user interface.
