I have just today used the minolta to scan my colour negatives (Fuji 160) as 16 bit files. I san them as negatives in 16bit not 16 bit linear- why do you invert them and scan the as positives??? I also normally use (not so today) Ed Hamrick's Vuescan software which is great because you can put in the film you use and the colour accuracy is fab. I don't have any problems either way. I personally think that to scan slides especially the Velvia can be a pain because of the magent cast. Good luck
