Sorry but I have to say the above is very hazy. You give no technical
reasons as to why humans are more sensitive to flicker when using peripheral
vision nor how to use peripheral vision. Just not good enough, IMO.

After doing extensive research on Google, here are my findings: The reason
humans are more sensitive to peripheral vision goes back to the days when we
were living in the wild and had to watch out for man-eating tigers (they
never ate women for some reason) when we went to drink from the pond, lake
or river. As you can imagine, it's very difficult to turn your head and
drink at the same time, so peripheral vision was born! I believe peripheral
vision is still relied upon heavily by people working on Wall Street and in
the City, even though they can turn their heads while drinking from their
Evien bottles!

The technical way to check if refresh rate is high enough, which you
omitted, is to sit upright in front of the screen, turn your head to 4.30 pm
or 8.30 am of the clock and look back at the screen through the corner of
the eye nearest to the screen. The method will NOT work if you look with the
eye furthest away from the screen.

Sheeesh!.......
