I agree that this doesn't seem like spam - I'm in the process of assessing
image sharpening tools and appreciate this info. 

Spam is unsolicited and off-target e-mail of which this appears to be
neither.

Actually, I don't consider it junk or spam. It's on-topic and in answer to a
question posed by a Pro-Dig member (admittedly an old post but it looks as
if Tim Atherton meant to answer privately but accidentally posted to the
list as well). IAC, I personally found the information interesting and have
filed it away for future reference.
