Can't answer for the Minolta or Nikon Scanners but I ditched my Nikon LS4000 scanner for a Flextite Precision 2 scanner about 2 years ago and have not looked back.
I agree. I bought a Precision 2 near when they first came out... maybe six years ago. I bought it to replace a NIkon LS4500 which was a major hunk of junk. The Imacon has been and still is a superb and very versatile performer. They're available in the used market at rather attractive prices these days.
