The stupidity of insurance companies never ceases to amaze me: do they
really think that a hotel room is more secure than a safe in a vehicle
fitted with tracker and immobiliser?

I have failed to find an insurance company that will even discuss security
requirements for professional digital equipment in unattended vehicles: you
can get systems that can track stolen vehicles by satellite.

Amateur/journalist <10Mp DSLRs would be more attractive to thieves, as they
are common and easy to sell.
