With a budget of 10,000 and the proviso of having to buy new, I think considering Flextights is definitely an option. If your client doesn't need 5" x 4" capacity then it may be worth checking out the 343, although I would recommend getting one that does do 5 x 4, as not only can it deal with larger film formats, but the scan specs are better. You can check them out yourself at Imacons site : http://www.imacon.dk/ As far as using a Flextight to scan flat art work is concerned.... Yes it can do it, but I wouldn't recommend it as a full time solution, as the operator has to place the art-work in a sleeve before scanning it (at least this is how it works on my P3). This really increases the chances of introducing dust and static etc onto the scan, and is very fiddely, in my experience... Good Luck !
