The thing with sales, as I've found from my gallery, is that sometimes what
appear to be time-wasters are not, (not judging a book by it's cover etc, I
think Ian Reynolds mentioned this). I've often stood smiling like a Cheshire
Cat at some moithering gallery visitor, whilst I'm actually thinking "why
don't you just piss off and let me get back to work" and they come in a week
later and spend several hundred pounds! I've had to learn that ALWAYS being
polite and genuinely helpful really does pay dividends, and it shows.
Rightly or wrongly Nikon are the only guys mentioned in this thread and it's
doing them no favours. I agree that there are genuine self-inflated visitors
who are never going to be customers but GOOD sales staff SHOULD be able to
identify them!

Isn't every client meeting a form of sales? <G> I'm just glad I photograph
as well as sell! :-)
