Stephen: The additional file size of the standard jpeg is due to the "metadata overhead" and colorspace ICC profile. The FILEINFO/XMP/IPTC/EXIF data is probably a good chunk of the overhead, as the sRGB profile of most devices isn't that large. Since you are dealing with a digital camera file there is EXIF data without a doubt. If you have put your contact info, caption, etc. then that adds to the overhead as well. Save For Web in all versions before CS typically chucked all this metadata and profile info out in order to get the smallest file possible. With CS there is the opportunity to save various parts of this metadata, but you will need to delve into the help file to find the exact location of the different options toggles. Personally I'd caution again ditching the metadata, especially if you need to provide caption/contact information this way.
