So Michael, what do you think of your Eizo, and Richard is the Artisan all
it's cracked up to be?

Dear Simon

I hoped that you would not have asked quite so soon as I have frustrating news which listees who see the Colorsync users list may be aware of.

Once unpacked I saw that the monitor had a manufacturing date of December 2002 and a serial number of 168. This puts it in the category of one of the early Artisans manufactured. Whilst there may be absolutely nothing wrong with this early version, one should always suspect that later models will have had any bugs sorted. One thing that really bugs me is that the case and support are so flimsy that the slightest nudge send the whole thing wobbling about. When this sort of cheapening is found on Sony's flagship monitor it sends alarm bells ringing for me, and I had always been a stanch supporter of the brand. The whole thing feels horribly 'tacky' and not built to do the job.

My many emails to the suppliers, Watford Electronics in the UK, trading as Savastor.com have resulted in absolutely no response. Pretty poor show on a close on 2000 UKP ($4000 USD) purchase.

More later when we get this sorted out.......no we have not switched it on or opened the various bags as it may be going back!

Cheers

Richard
