Go with the 6Mp Nikons! I've had a D100 for some months, and the quality is 
excellent, I'm just waiting for the D70 to give the flash sync, and then 
I'll have two bodies that should serve for some considerable time 
(hopefully!), although they are likely to be worth nothing within a year! 
(Except to me).

Unfortunately the soon to be released Nikon D70 is the only kit (that I can
justify/afford) that gives a sync speed of 1/500 - along with a stack of
compromises.
