This comes back to the point I made recently on another thread. The perception of not only the public, but to some extent picture editors as well, is that the act of brining lens to eye and pressing the go button is as easily done as said. The only thing that marks us 'pro' smudgers out from punters with digital compacts is the price and complexity of our toys. I'm all for campaigning for a price drop in DSLR's and associated gear but, when that happens everyone with a grand or so to spare suddenly becomes a pro by merit of owning a 1D. Sure, the results won't be the same but so few people care now, imaging the situation when photos are supplied free by punters just so they can see their name in print. Ho-hum.

I'll stop whinging and go back to taking photos whilst there is still a market for them.
