The phrase "as new" doesn't mean brand new. The definitions of "as new" and "reconditioned" are whatever the seller wants them to be.
Dear Thomas
Certainly that is quite clear as was the description on their web page I read at the time of ordering http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=1369&CategoryI
D=11&SubCategoryID= BTW their site was down a moment ago, and yes I was sufficiently prudent to do a screen grab, along with my diary showing date and time I found the discrepancy.
Personally, I wouldn't buy anything "reconditioned" or "refurbished" if the reconditioning or refurbishing is done by anyone other than the original manufacturer and came with appropriate warrantees.
Absolutely and especially a laptop! On other pages there were indeed deals on refurbished laptops but they were marked as such and offered 'split' guarrantees....3months Toshiba and 9 months RTB, so I kept well away from them. The sticker on the underside of this computer has three options Class one (this is what was on offer on the web page) As new (this is the option marked) or Ex demo. The sticker says Toshiba reconditioned so perhaps it is all OK, but this is still not what was offered and the 90 day warrantee is not what was on offer. Surely when goods being offered for sale are other than new, there is a legal requirement that this is clearly stated?
I doubt that this is a "warehouse error". Contact your credit card company (you did pay with a credit card, right?) and deny the payment until the seller satisfies you.
Have done, but Visa are in a mess and said they could do nothing except log the nature of my call to them.....burnt lines still effecting them it seems!
Cheers
