Hi Chris,
I have not used the Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR, but I have
tested (using a non-scientific method of walking into Calumet, attach lens
to my D100, photograph staff under available light and leave...) the 70-200
f2.8G ED-IF ED VR lens hand-held on 200mm at 1/30th sec on a talking
subject.

I would say 2.5 stops on the shutter speed is more like it, though.

Bearing in mind I'd never picked up the lens before I was impressed with the
results. One weird "side-effect" of the VR mechanism is that when you move
around in the lens it does make one feel a little "sea-sick" !

I'll happily email you a jpeg file of one of the test shots.

Also Nikon claim that you gain 3 stops using the
