Sorry, I can't help yu with IE... but I'd reckommend changing to another browser. I did the same - after Microsoft stated that they won't develop any more new versions of IE.
Safari (Apple) seems a good choice. The arguably best browser on the Mac, I think, is Camino. You can download it from download.com. It offers a lot of useful features - and it's completely and easily configurable to your own needs... you can even design your navigation bar to your own needs, if you like!

Sorry to trouble you all with this, but its driving me totally crazy. I'm
using Internet Explorer 5.2. on a Mac 10.2.8 and two things are happening
which I cannot alter..

1. It will not save passwords or start-up page
2. Every time I click on a link it brings up a drop down menu.

I just want it to remember my home page, passwords and allow mw to travel
from one link/page to another without the need to mess about.
