Dear Rick
You need to do the rest of the job now or you are not getting the full benefit of your investment.
If you are on Win2K or XP you certainly could benefit from putting your windows paging file on its own dedicated hard drive. The same goes for your Photoshop scratch disk, your OS and apps drive and lastly one for your work in progress. IMO your best bet is to buy the fastest SCSI drives and an appropriate Adaptec controller. Do make sure that you have set your paging file preferences correctly. The min and the max should be twice the amount of ram you have on board...more will not harm things.
Others will no doubt suggest other routes but whatever you do get four of the fastest drives you can lay hands on and get ready for a huge difference in performance. BTW although SCSI drives are more expensive than other drives they usually have a five year warrantee ....say no more!
Cheers
