Purple fringing - do not knock the camera until you have changed or
investigated lenses. As I have said on a few occasions, this effect is due
to Chromatic Abberations in the lens. It WILL be seen more with a high
resolution camera such as the Kodak. Try a PRIME lens especially a wide
angle one and see the difference. The camera is only recording what is
thrown on to the sensor.WA zooms are worse for CA.

It is amazing how many complain of this and when investigated are using a
relatively inexpensive lens on their very expensive high resolution
camera. These same folk would not put such a lens on their Hasselblad!

Another analogy ( but perhaps a little esoteric) using Technical pan film
and complaining that it is shows stuff Plus -X doesn't such as a defined
depth of field, or it is not as sharp as it is meant to be.
Its all down to the lens! - Really.
