I use An Apple Cinema LCD on a Mac, if I were going to purchase a CRT
and price was no object I would get the Sony Artisan.

Buying something as important as a monitor sight unseen is anathema. If
anyone is using these or has recommendations, I would appreciate comments or
even general opinions on brand reputation both positive and negative. The
only one that seems to have any "rep"over here for graphics use are the
Mitsubishis and my only experience with Mitsubishis is my 4WD campervan and
rollerball pens!
