Dear Barry, For some reason I have just belatedly received a whole string of posts relating to this thread from 14/6/04. You may have an option in that you could perhaps have your 1160 re-profiled. I've worked my way through five 1160's over the last three years or so and they have all been brilliant - beautiful smooth grads, certainly not matching up with your experiences. I don't use these machines so much now because I do much prefer my Ultrachrome machines but that's not to say that the 1160's don't hold their own when it comes to print quality.
