Dear Paul
Don't start me on the Asset database software aaarrrgggghhhh!!!!
I was using Portfolio so long ago that I stopped using them when they wanted 600 per annum for the CD browser software. The European Sales Manager was so rude on the phone that I welcomed my discovery of Cumulus.
I use Cumulus internally for organising pictures when working on book projects. It is very quick and easy to set up lots of folders/categories. For instance I currently have all my Devon pictures in one category. I then make two fresh categories for two books I am working on. Within those categories I have Chapter 1, Chapter 2 etc.. These are easily deleted when I have finished the project.
However, to get the best from Cumulus they need to write another manual, one that I can understand. When a new version of Cumulus failed to work with the version of Toast the earlier version had worked with sorting out the problem cost me thousands in man hours. Just how many ways can they write 'internal hard disk' without actually making clear they mean 'internal hard disk'? What is so hard about the German words that these things do not translate?

It's interesting to see you are using Cumulus. Any particular advantage for using this software as opposed to iView media pro?
