I admit I haven't set them up for RAID, but I would use the Apple Formatting tools which allow you to set up RAIDs, rather than 3rd party software. If I were to get a couple more drives ever, that is what I would do.

Dear Richard, I have used Apples software for creating a mirrored RAID on two LACIE 400GB Big Discs but Lacie do NOT advise this. They say that if a volume or catalogue is corrupted then it will be mirrored on both. As I have just has to remove a mirrored SW array and all my images on it after a sudden system error, (thankfully copied to another drive first), I can see what they are saying.

There is also a STRIPED array option. Does anyone know how this works please before I make another mistake of following Apple's options??

If not, I have two identical separate discs. What is the best way to use these for sensible image storage please?

TIA

Glyn
