I'd suggest a mirrored array (Raid 1) which requires a minimum of 2 drives. All data is written identically to both drives. A failure of one drive will not bring down the system as the other drive/drives will continue to operate. It is the only Raid array offering fault-tolerance using no more than 2 drives.
