Hi, I'm also about to get a film scanner for Xpan negs for library. I've got an Epson 2450 (as a general purpose scanner) at the moment and have always been disappointed with the sharpness when scanning film. I was thinking about the Minolta 5400. Does anyone have any experience of a comparison between the 5400 and the 4870. Presumably Epson have addressed the focus issue. TIA Snowy
