The bad weather is allowing me to catch up with some much needed editing of a few thousand frames. I am struck by the difference between looking at digital files and film. There was always a sense of excitement when a pile of film came back from the lab and I looked at it on the lightbox for the first time. I would keep going back to the sheets with a lupe to have another look. I just don't seem to be getting this with digital capture. Scanning through images in PS File Browser just isn't the same. Does anyone else notice this and is there a cure?
I'm just the opposite! I get a kick out of my digital files that I never got from film. I think the thing I like is being able to see all of the picture, onscreen, without having to go over bits of it with a loupe on a lightbox; I can see the whole thing and find that I get a much better idea of what I've got there. Magic. Sorry I don't have a cure for you, Bob.
