I use it on a mobile pentium 1.6. The diffrerence is that the p4 has a 512kb
level 2 cache and the mobile has a 1mb level 2 cache and a smaller one as
well. So faster floating point unit calculations. The speed is comparible to
my amd 3000xp chip on my main machine. The speed difference is negligable,
but you will get extended battery life with the mobile one. However you may
be better looking at the amd xp 64bit range of laptops if you want speed, as
there are 2 1mb caches I think and friends who do music and video say the
jump in speed for them is at least 100% on the amd 64 bit ones from pentium
4's. As long as you download xp service release pack 2, its in beta but
works.
