There is no way to build a profile from RAW (mosaic) data - it can only be accomplished on a processed file. That goes for all profileres i know of.
So what's going on when you you shoot the Macbeth chart with a Sinarback? We've created something (presumably not a profile) for the camera under flash and tungsten conditions, and we choose the appropriate one before we start shooting.
Then we export (process) those mosaic files into TIFF files, choosing at that time which colour space (sRGB, aRGB) is appropriate for the job.
If that first process is camera calibration, then I'm pretty happy with that - it means for example I can get my two Sinarbacks to interpret the world in the same way, and I can shoot, say, a roomset on one, take a cushion to the other for a close up, and get them looking the same colour.
If I could use inCamera product to bring my FujiS2 inline (I don't know what the proper term is here) then I'd say that was a massive step forward.
Is it the consensus however that inCamera, or Bruce Fraser's methods (using the same Macbeth checker) would not do this?
