Since 1979...And out of interest, how long have you been shooting digitally?
And what problems have you encountered and why?

There are problems with ALL new technology. Did you just wake up one day and
shoot perfect trannies? I doubt it.

Incidentally, sites like these weren't around when film was introduced.
Maybe that explains why problems with film weren't discussed on lists! <g> I
dare say there were people who didn't know how to load it or expose it or
print it! Have you looked at the plethora of books, magazines, Websites, and
discussion groups devoted to shooting, scanning and printing film?

You haven't even bothered to read the guidelines of this list, what chance
have you of shooting digital that's better than film? Which, btw, has been
done and is done on a daily basis. You just need to know that something was
shot digitally by someone who KNOWS how to shoot digitally and not by, erm,
a luddite.

Part of the problem with shooting digital is the way it's sold to clients.
Photographers are now expected to do the work of scanner operators and
prepress. If you ain't got those skills, you are going to have problems.

Not an inconsiderate number of questions are Photoshop related. I have a
couple of quizzes on my Photoshop Domain site, they are based on some of the
most frequently asked questions (but not all), if you think you are up to
speed digitally, see how you score:
