Ladies, Gentlemen. This film versus digital debate is exactly the reason I joined this forum. Whilst I still shoot on Velvia 100F and will probably continue to do so for a while yet I am very aware there is a revolution happening and unless I get clued up the world will have moved on, if I am not careful Fuji will announce "no more film" and I am as dead as a Dodo......
There have been many opinions expressed, some warmed my heart and gave me faith that film would live, and some make me realise the benefits of a digital image. None - no matter how biased or forthright - have been unwelcome or unwelcome. Richard's (Kenward) post of "Oh, I wish I had moved that light out....." was particularly relevant for someone like myself who takes pictures underwater, and often cannot get back to the dive site - ever. Having said that, I positively enjoy the "truth" of a tranny and have (at present) a dark suspicion of a digitally manipulated image and as a result welcomed the decision of BG Wildlife Photographer to insist on the RAW image plus the manipulated submission. Times they are a changin, and I am keeping an eye on it! So, thanks to all who contribute and please keep your opinions coming.... Yours, sitting in the fence, Simon Brown =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
