Oh dear I've got a lot of people very agitated.

I'm not moaning at those people who have posted such as you & Joanna. Dumb
questions are fine assuming that you've RTFM, googled, etc and many times
even if you haven't. God knows I've asked some stupid ones before now.
I know that people like yourself help in whatever way they can.

What I was saying in my own bluff way is that people really should take part
in the discussion & not sit on the sidelines taking all & offering nothing
in return.
Someone asked if I would like all the email traffic that 1500 posters would
generate. Bring it on I say. It could be fantastic. 1500 points of view -
what a resource! Right now its 50 points of view, the same 50 each day. I
feel its lazy and maybe disrespectful of the lurkers who never contribute.

My point about a registration system is that it limits the list to people
who at least have some knowledge, analogue or digital, lab or sales staff,
web designer or illustrator - ie someone who makes a living from imaging. At
least we know as a group that they have something to offer.
With such a system at least one could post offlist to someone who knows a
lot about say CMOS chip design because their bio would give you a clue to
their knowledge. At least that the theory!

Contribute, exchange, discuss, rant, maybe become arragant & elitist but at
least take part for christs sake.

I can see that most do not share my view so will now shut up. I can hear
cries of thank god.

Kind Regards

Steve
