One problem when a list is too restricted, "professional photographers only"
for example, is that the knowledge base gets very high but narrow. Sure,
everyone knows how to compose pictures and so on but often that is not the
knowledge that is needed or wanted when questions are asked.

Having a variety of members that behave *professionally* helps to provide
information to the strange inter-disciplinary questions that sometimes shows
up.

The two obvious things that I see that creates significant "noise" is that
posters do not read all the answers to a question so there are multiple similar
answers. This is probably aggravated by that the list is for unknown reasons
sometimes slow showing up messages so many answers might have been posted but
have not shown up yet while the extra replies were posted.

The other thing, I do not think simple question should be posted without
spending a minute or two on Google and or the archive. Often, in seconds, the
answers are right there and the poster does not have to wait for the answers.

I do not mind the extra posts since I have a fast connection but I can
understand that it is bothersome on a slow connection.
