I have to say I disagree with you on this point!
The Lyson Fotonic inksets work a treat and their dye-based inks last an awfully long time.
Plus there is now the Lyson PhotoChrome inkset - offering pigment inks in a CIS.

Hi Richard and all,

I bought a 2100 and installed a Lyson Fotonics CIS last year at a combined cost of 950, I regret the CIS installation
almost every time I use it. It had taken ages to set up, with Neil Barstow's grey wedge test's and then he created a good profile.
But Neil admitted that it was far from ideal to install on the 2100.

At the "In and Out" seminar earlier this year, I left with the impression that Lysons CIS was unreliable. I've not experienced this but will say that it blocks
the heads very often and can easily be cleared with a head clean etc.

However, having said all this, the prints are reasonable and very, very economical to produce. It's just that I want an absolute perfect
representation of the digital file, this I achieve on an epson 1160, but the resolution is no match for the 2100.

I'm now measuring up the office to squeeze in an epson 4000 and stay with the epson ink set..............

Using a CIS reduces the cost dramatically and the 2100 is a great printer in combo with it.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Steve VC
