I have had a similar problem recently with a year old Fujitsu laptop. It got
over hot and cut out made noise and I thought it was terminal. I ended up
(when it was cold) using a standard compressed air blower (as used for
cleaning negs) and blasting every air vent underneath the thing. Huge clouds
of dust and crap flew out. When restarted the machine was fine, and has
been ever since.
